LOCAL FIRMS INSPIRE GROWTH AT WORCESTERSHIRE BUSINESS CENTRAL CONFERENCE
Worcestershire Business Central (WBC) is delighted to reveal that over 150 delegates from Worcestershire based businesses took part in its Inspiring Growth Conference on Thursday 27 September.
Held at the Chateau Impney in Droitwich, WBC’s conference took on a new approach to problem solving – filling the morning’s event with interactive and fun-filled sessions.
Attendees took part in an exciting business challenge, drawing on their knowledge and experience as business leaders to consider the obstacles, threats and opportunities for their business. The conference was designed to generate tangible solutions for improvement and business growth for firms of all sectors and sizes, focusing primarily on “Customers, Cash and Capacity”.
Guests also had the fantastic chance to hear from two high level speakers; Daniel Walton, Managing Director at OLPRO, and Ben O’Sullivan, Partner Manager, at Facebook, who took to the stage to discuss business success and the challenges faced on the way.
After being inspired by the practical ideas and solutions to engender business growth, delegates took part in WBC’s Dragon’s Vault – inspired by BBC Two’s Dragon’s Den.
Attendees joined forces to think of a brand new business idea to pitch to a panel of judges including; Cassie Bray, H&W Chamber of Commerce, Linda Smith, Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Jane Bishop, Malvern Panalytical, Chris Walklett, Bishop Fleming, Jim McBride, Lesk Engineers, Stephanie Cooper, Handelsbanken, Jennifer Appleton, ISO Quality Services and Dom Portman, Fancy Fresher’s.
As well as working within a team, guests had to be quick to alter their business plans when fictional challenges from the “outside world” arose – from rising interest rates to multinational cyber attacks.
After the winning team was announced, guests had the opportunity to take part in an Entrepreneurs Q&A session with Rob Newton, Managing Director at Print Strategy, and Colin Fulford, Operations Director at Bee Lighting.
Kevin Aisitt, Growth Hub Manager for WBC, commented “We would like to thank all the businesses that were involved on the day. We hope they thoroughly enjoyed the activities and networking opportunities that the morning presented, and left inspired with ideas to grow their business in Worcestershire.”
