BetaDen Tech Talks is back for a second series!
The third and final talk in this series is: Big Data and Visualisation, taking place on 3 December at the BetaDen HQ at Malvern Hills Science Park, (5pm – 7pm.)
Ninety percent of the world’s data has been created in the last two years. Businesses and organisations of all sizes from all sectors have data-rich environments, but often lack automated information-enabled decision making processes.
In this Tech Talk, Andy Shaw from Hexagon Geospatial Division will present visual analytics that gain insight into big data. He’ll provide some examples of big data techniques and describe how humans can improve their absorption of information. He’ll show how human-in-the-loop analytics and business intelligence applications can help people identify trends and patterns and he’ll touch on machine learning, for example for automated or semi-automated image analysis .
Andy will be supported by Steve Borwell-Fox, MD of borwell ltd who will talk about decision making processes and how visualisation can support users to make quick and informed decisions. He will provide some working examples of visualisation in 2D, 3D, 4D and even 5D, including some created in real time aircraft situation awareness monitoring and crowded spaces.
